Working in a new UKAS 17025 accredited laboratory, your duties will include :

Analysis of steam cycle and incinerator bottom ash samples using instrumental and wet chemistry techniques

Plan and prioritise the workload on a day to day basis to meet customer requirements

To maintain the laboratory’s quality system via quality control charts, proficiency testing, inter laboratory testing, etc

Maintenance of the laboratory’s analytical instrumentation

To investigate instrument faults and failures and remedy any issues to reduce downtime

To play a leading role in analytical method development

To prepare standard solutions for quality control and calibration purposes

Accurately record data and enter onto the laboratories database

Provide internal training on methods and techniques as required

To develop an advanced knowledge of the laboratory’s ISO 17025 Quality Manual and disseminate throughout the team

Work in accordance with Company Policies & Procedures for H&S and Quality as well as the laboratory’s UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation

Applicants should be qualified to HNC / Degree level in a chemistry related discipline.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Divisional Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be the main interface between Finance and Operations.  Based at South West London (Morden/Charlton Lane/Maidenhead), the Senior Financial Analyst will support the Regional Director of Operations South East.

Key responsibilities of the role include identifying profit improvement opportunities in the region, reviewing investment opportunities, providing financial support for new tenders and working closely with the Regional Director in the formulation and implementation of regional business plans.

In addition to this the Senior Financial Analyst will be the key person responsible for controlling the preparation of budget/forecasts for the region.

What are the requirements?

The successful candidate will have demonstrable analytical experience within a manufacturing / production environment and a track record of business improvement through identification and implementation of KPIs.

It is essential that the applicant has exceptional communication skills and has the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with senior managers, external contacts and other stakeholders.

Applicants must also be able to work on their own initiative, to strict deadlines and organise their own workload.

Experience of working within the waste industry is desirable but not essential as is a formal accounting qualification.

As a Shift Manager, you’ll be at the heart of one of our innovative facilities, helping to generate electricity from a sustainable source.

What will I be doing as a Shift Manager?

During your shifts, you’ll see that our plant runs smoothly, in line with environmental regulations. It means monitoring operations in the control room, inspecting plant operations and dealing with any problems as they arise. You’ll have a team of shift personnel, (Senior Operations Technician and Operations Technicians) to manage and we’ll expect you to make sure they’re trained and motivated to carry out their roles. As the Senior Authorised Person on site, you’ll be responsible for the facility outside office hours. That means you need to be a capable professional with First Aid and Fire Marshal training.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

You will have experience working in a similar power generation or chemical process plant, ideally an EfW facility. You’ll certainly know how they work and a good understanding of any of the following would be advantageous; boilers, incinerators, steam systems and high voltage switchgear (S9/S4). Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering, SUEZ will invest in an extensive training and development program for you, which will involve completing BOAS Cert IBO qualification and NEBOSH General Certificate, if you don’t have them already. Alongside this technical expertise, you’ll have excellent team management skills and the ability to get the best out of people. IT-literate with permit to work systems experience and well-versed in environmental legislation, you’ll be a pivotal member of the team.

Driven, experienced and IT-literate, you’ll have a proven track record in Sales. A background in the Waste industry isn’t essential, as we’ll give you all the training you need. However, you must be capable of creating sales plans; direct selling; presenting to clients; and negotiating at all levels.   • Assisting MOPs and answering any questions,

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

Previous experience within the waste industry or other high volume production processes is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be provided where necessary.

The successful candidate should be willing to undertake mobile plant training, as this will form a part of their role, and also must be able to travel for this training.

Responsibilities

  • To develop and deliver process improvement techniques, enhancing business performance, shareholder value, customer service and product quality across all aspects of the group.
  • Build on progress to date by implementing best practise across all the business value streams including support services, at various locations across the UK dealing with a number of emerging waste streams and technologies.
  • Reporting to the COO for Business Development, you will need to lead and direct a team capable of driving the change agenda throughout the business based on both its expertise and its enthusiasm.
  • Since change needs to be initiated and driven from the Board the incumbent will be expected to coach, mentor and influence the business employees from senior executives at Board level to the shop floor.

What will be Required?

Candidates will have a demonstrable track record of success gained in senior executive level (P & L responsible) operational management roles, in a manufacturing environment where leading change has had significant results towards safety, quality, cultural, service, and profitability throughout the holistic supply chain.

Specific Knowledge:

You will have an excellent technical and engineering background that has been developed utilising continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean 6 sigma. Of equal importance will be strong hands on leadership skills where you can demonstrate experience of developing systems and processes as well as high performing teams to deliver bottom line results and succession planning.

Business Understanding:

You will be financially astute with an understanding of the balance sheet and Profi & Loss, along with a solid commercial understanding. Ideally coming from the recycling industry, however industries outside of this such as FMCG, Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Automotive or similar would also be considered.

Safety & Compliance

The ideal candidate will have a clear & demonstrable track record of fostering an H&S culture and a strong understanding of the need for robust environmental compliance & ability to deliver.

About the role

What will I be doing?

  • Implementing all aspects of the Quality Management System and associated documentation and to notify Senior Scientists and/or Laboratory Manager of any departure from the Quality Management System and procedures so that reparation can be made.
  • Undertake data entry using a Laboratory Information Management System
  • Undertake training of scientific technicians
  • To uphold and comply with the statutory provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation and policies or procedures relating to Health & Safety at Work.
  • The Scientific Officers will uphold and comply with the requirements of International Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 ‘General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories’.

What are the requirements/qualifications?

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (scientific discipline or combination of disciplines) with previous experience of working in a laboratory environment.

Working mainly in the south of the UK, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering health & safety training to Suez workforce in an engaging and high quality style - (IOSH managing safely, accident investigation, safety rep training, Safety in Mind training plus other required training interventions).
  • Create traditional and digital learning material including; storyboard, scripting and creation using digital software suite where self-created digital material is identified as the best solution.
  • Identifying H&S/Technical training needs and developing training plans.
  • Supporting the Health & Safety and Technical Training Manager to ensure all Technical and H&S training is aligned to Policy & Procedures.
  • Deputise for the H&S/technical training officer (North) when required.
  • Deputise for H&S and Technical training manager on group projects, committees, meetings and focus groups where appropriate.
  • Liaise with EFW managers and Technical RM’s to ensure training needs are being effectively supported.
  • Carry out multi-level evaluation of training effectiveness and its impact on workplace behaviour, performance and culture.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

  • Strong instructional, training and coaching techniques and skills. 
  • Small and large group training delivery skills
  • Supervisor/manager training experience.
  • Proven ability in designing and developing training solutions (inc digital formats)
  • NEBOSH general certificate - desirable
  • Level 4 teaching or Training and development (or equivalent) - desirable
  • Level 3 Management training - desirable
  • SEFW E-ON Training - desirable
  • Low Voltage training S9 (Awareness course)
  • Experienced in Permit-to-Work procedures Issue and Acceptance
  • Senior Authorised Person (SAP) - desirable

Previous admin experience would be ideal, but it isn’t essential. What’s more important is the ability to build strong customer relationships plus basic qualifications: GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). Knowledge of the waste management industry would be fantastic but again, this is not obligatory.

What will I be doing?

With 5,000 people working across 300 locations, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK is a substantial national business. We have a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles, which range from and specialist articulated and rigid trucks, to road sweepers, refuse collection vehicles and heavy plant vehicles.

Your job will be to maintain this fleet – a task that will see you working with diverse vehicle technology and sophisticated ancillary equipment.

What are the requirements?

To join us, you must have previous experience in an LGV / HGV maintenance role. You’ll also need a recognised LGV / HGV Technician apprenticeship and a City & Guilds HGV parts 1, 2 & 3 qualification (or equivalent) - or strong progress towards achieving this.
