The rate of pay for this role £8.89 per hour to £9.15 with COTC Qualification

What will I be doing?

  • Reporting into the Area Supervisor, you will look after the day-to-day operation of the CA site.
  • Operation and routine maintenance of mobile plant items.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly returned to the Administration Department on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
  • Under the direction of management, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Health & Safety issues and company policies.
  • Travel to undertake training requirements as well as to other sites in the area for staff cover.

What are the requirements?

  • A broad knowledge of mobile plant and any other applicable equipment used within the Waste Management and Recycling industry with certification for mobile plant used on site.
  • The successful individual will be in possession of (or be capable of working towards) a COTC Level 4 Waste Transfer Hazardous (4TSH) certificate
  • Certification of mobile plant is desirable although training will be given.
  • You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable.
  • Previous experience of a similar role would be advantageous.

What will I be doing?

  •  Carry out instructions issued by the Site Team Leader/Area Supervisor.
  •  Operate and maintain a variety mobile and fixed plant in compliance with Safe systems of work.
  • Maximise the recovery of recycling materials from deliveries to site
  •  Accurate recording of data from the systems on site,
  •  Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and maintenance
  • Ensuring that within their areas of responsibility, SUEZ UK complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by their actions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ UK and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ UK’s Policies and Procedures
  • Undertaking first aider duties and fire warden duties on site

What are the requirements?

What will I be doing as a Senior Shift Operations Technician?

  • You’ll be responsible for one (or several) of the key lines at our Energy from Waste plant. That means you’ll continuously monitor, control, adjust and troubleshoot this line/s and the processes involved.
  • The aim is to maximise availability and efficiency, while ensuring everything works in a safe, environmentally compliant way, according to regulations.
  • Day-to-day, you’ll keep logs, flag up and deal with problems, operate the waste cranes and take samples.
  • You’ll also deputise for the Shift Manager, which will give you the chance to enhance your skills.
  • Managing plant operations.

What are the requirements? (Experience and qualifications)

  • With a background in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering, qualified ideally to HNC level (or equivalent) in a related subject, you’ll be familiar with all aspects of an EfW site or similar process plant environment.
  • SUEZ will invest in you from day one with a structured development program  based on experience.
  • Certifications required for the role include; a BOAS Cert IBO, a NEBOSH General Certificate, knowledge of root cause analysis, safe working procedures and accident investigation. If you don’t have all of the above don’t worry, as the extensive training programme will increase and develop your skills and expertise, providing you with the additional skills you need.
  • Additional beneficial experience includes managing SSOW (safe systems of work), working with boilers, incinerators, high voltage switchgear and ideally be / have been a fire marshal with First Aid training. From start through to completion of your training programme, you’ll be a valuable member of the site team.

What will I be doing as a Project Engineer?

As a Project Engineer you will provide the important connection between multiple teams, from sales & commercial through to mobile project management and manufacturing plant, managing customer deliverables. Reporting to the Engineering Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will be driven by the plant ‘shop floor’ in Peterborough and by global asset engineering, with specific tasks including:

  • Project and design engineering for Build, Own & Operate plants and mobile fleet upgrades
  • Directly lead manufacturing Engineering support and drawing management, both concept design and modifications
  • Lead outsource engineering, ensuring detail design and drawing completion
  • Pilot fleet engineering and maintenance activities

Additionally you will provide support on proposals and be responsible for material / equipment selection, sourcing suppliers and parts. There will be the opportunity for site visits, for as built surveys, and to share your knowledge through training and coaching Engineering interns and new starters.

What will you need and what can you gain?

Flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation, but you will need a background in relevant water treatment systems along with:

  • An Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or related subject
  • Detail design and drawing capability, ideally with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Experience of document creation, review and approval (data sheet, P&ID, PFD, layouts etc.)
  • Environment Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, MOC engineering actions and HAZOPs (training provided)
  • Additional beneficial experience includes:
  • SAP business tool: Material Master, Inventory, drawing and BOM
  • Electrical (PLC), SAP, AutoCAD and SolidWorks etc.

Input into the design and specification process to ensure best practice and standardisation of SQL and Oracle builds.

Install and configure SQL Server on single Servers and clusters on physical and virtual (VMWare) environments.

Using available tools (built in or 3rd party) and working with application support teams and vendors, health check SQL Server environments and propose recommendations for performance tuning and optimisation.

Working with, or as part of, cross-functional technical project teams, assist solution and technical architects to design scalable, performant and secure SQL Server installations

Contribute to capacity planning and sizing estimates

Set up:

backup and restore strategies

disaster recovery procedures

monitoring and alerting

Impact assess change documents to identify deliverables and commercial impact

Work with the DBA support team to transition installations into ongoing support, including operational acceptance documentation

Skills/Experience:

Installation, configuration and performance tuning of SQL Server 2000, 2005, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016.

Have a clear understanding of n-tier application architecture and be able to recognise impacts or dependencies of related components on SQL server database architecture and efficiency

Good knowledge of database designs and relational databases

What will I be doing?

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with previous experience of leading a team, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed a flexible approach to work is required. The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery but a current fork lift truck licence is preferred.

Having good computer skills for the input and recording of data on SUEZ systems will also be advantageous. A current IOSH certificate and COTC would be a distinct advantage.

  • There will be a need to discuss and negotiate with the regulator and to advise senior management. 
  • In addition the post holder will also be required to undertake similar assessments for perimeter ground gas working with the operations team gas engineers.
  • Numerical modelling is a key element and proficiency in stochastic and spreadsheet based models will be necessary.
  • Additionally, the Hydrogeology Team is responsible for managing the monitoring database and the post holder will be required to assist with problem resolution and development of the database.  The data is used by the Hydrogeology team to produce Annual Reports for each landfill site as well as technical reports.
  • From time to time there will also be a need to work on contaminated land projects, provide technical assessments as part of acquisition due diligence and work alongside similar technical experts from across the industry in developing best practice through the Environmental Services Association (ESA).

What are the requirements?

  • First degree (BSc or BEng) in Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Sciences is essential. A second higher degree (MSc or PhD) in hydrogeology, environmental science or similar related subject is desirable.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body is essential and the Candidate should be working towards a professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Geologist, CGeol).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a geo-environmental/ hydrogeology role or equivalent, with a focus on groundwater and ground gas.
  • The ability to analyse information and to present this logically in writing technical reports and clearly presenting data is essential for the role, as reports are required to be clear and accurate to ensure that various customers fully understand the content.
  • Experience should include a good foundation in Geology and Hydrogeology and experience in planning and undertaking ground investigations, geological/hydrogeological interpretation, risk assessment and environmental monitoring.
  • The Candidate must have the ability to progress projects from inception to closure, and to accurately reflect and meet client requirements (internal and external) in doing so.
  • Experience in the UK regulatory process is key as is ability to communicate with team members and colleagues at various levels from senior management to junior site tecnicians
  • Experience with modelling software is also required including but not limited to EA Remedial Targets Methodology, ConSim and LandSim. Experience with other numerical modelling packages is advantageous (e.g. MODFLOW / Groundwater Vistas) additionally, database management skills would be highly desireable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, as well as being willing to work individually is essential and to lead contractors and consultants teams in your area of expertise with the confidence of those working above and below you.
  • Enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent verbal and written communication, together with the following key skills:
  • An understanding of ‘project management’ concepts as a large part of the role requires managing different teams of people from throughout the organisation at different periods, for example in preparing hydrogeological risk assessments, this would include co-ordinating information from multiple people/ sources (internal and external).
  • Managing these sources/ people requires good project management skills to ensure the correct information is provided within the statutory timescales.

What you will need? (Experience and qualifications)

Vital to this role is significant Project Management experience, demonstrating successful delivery of complex projects in similar industry sectors, with specific knowledge of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts. Ideally with water / wastewater treatment and process experience, applicants from the energy or oil & gas sectors would also be welcomed, with additional backgrounds including:

  • A relevant degree (or equivalent) in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related

Our Peterborough facility has two functional areas; an engineering facility that designs and builds mobile water treatment equipment / systems and a plant that regenerates ion exchange resin, working with cutting edge membrane technologies to provide mobile water treatment equipment for customers.


What will you be doing as a Project Engineer?

Providing Electrical and Control (E&C) technical expertise, as a Project Engineer, you will be the important connection between multiple teams, from sales & commercial through to mobile project management and manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Engineering Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will be driven by the plant ‘shop floor’ in Peterborough and by global asset engineering, with specific tasks including:

 

  • Lead E&C design and project engineering for Build, Own & Operate plants and mobile fleet upgrades
  • Directly lead manufacturing Engineering support and drawing management relating to E&C specifications, electrical panel design, including PLC integration and troubleshooting
  • Leading I/O checks, commissioning and start-ups for new equipment and plant
  • Control outsource E&C engineering, ensuring detail design and drawing completion, adhering to European standards

Additionally you will provide support on proposals and be responsible for material / equipment selection, sourcing suppliers and parts. There will be the opportunity for site visits, for as built surveys, and to share your knowledge through training and coaching Engineering interns and new starters.

What will you need and what can you gain?

Flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation, but you will need a background in water treatment systems, or a similar process industry, along with:

  • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) with industrial training or Degree in Electrical, Control, Industrial or related subject
  • Electrical & Control design and drawing capability, including panel design and PLC integration
  • Experience working to European standards (BS/IEC/UL/AS) and of leading I/O checks, commissioning and start-ups
  • Environment Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, MOC engineering actions and HAZOPs (training provided)

Additional beneficial experience includes:

  • PLC knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens or GE Fanuc
  • Panel design software of E Plan, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar
  • SAP business tool: Material Master, Inventory, drawing and BOM

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

Previous experience within the waste industry or other high volume production processes is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be provided where necessary.

The successful candidate should be willing to undertake mobile plant training, as this will form a part of their role, and also must be able to travel for this training.

What will I be doing?

  • Providing an outstanding and dedicated customer service, greeting customers with a smile and advising members of the public on waste to be recycled
  • Managing the flow of customers into the site, ensuring that the site adheres to opening and closing times
  • Assisting customers - removing heavy items from the boot of a car, carrying heavy items for them
  • Working within the reuse shop and being passionate and knowledgeable about the items for sale and the quality of them, giving us the confidence to appreciate that we are providing a service through selling.
  • Maintaining accurate records of the items brought in and out of the shop, using the till systems, computers and weighing scales to ensure all data is accurate. This data is used to calculate the percentage of goods being recycled, going towards a staff recycling bonus.
  • Maintain stock levels and records of what items are selling and what are not, giving feedback to HWRCs.
  • Researching the market using various tools, such as the internet, to understand items and their value. To have a visual eye, placing merchandise is key areas to attract people to buy.
  • Manual handling of items, some of which will be bulky such as furniture, in and out of the shop.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the site, including sweeping up litter and debris.
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated whilst also an enthusiastic team player, with a passion for customer service and Bric-a-Brac, to join the team at Suez Enfield in a new approach of reviving items with the potential for reuse and selling them in our reuse shop.

Having retail or a customer service background would be advantageous, a history of working with the public is essential as this is customer facing role. The Day Technician will be expected to implement the daily operational plant and drive continuous improvement within the WTP teams with a view to improving the reliability and efficiency of the WTP’s and Cooling Water assets.

Daily duties will include ensuring the WTP’s / Cooling Water Systems continually operate at their optimum level, whilst maintaining technician communications and shift cover, establishing operational reviews and ensuring the timely completion of routine PM tasks, facilitating project or 3rd party activity within the area.

What are the requirements?

  • Operation of process plants to tight performance standards (WTP or ETP accepted)
  • Previous supervisory experience (desirable)

  • Conducting preventative maintenance on water treatment plant, chemical feed pumps, controllers and instrumentation.

  • Calibrating feed pumps, controllers, feed rate charts and maintaining log sheets
  • Operating fixed installations on SUEZ water sites

Proactivity is a must, reporting customer feedback to the business and making recommendations to any site procedure or policy changes to improve efficiency.

Providing an emergency installation service requires FSR’s to be on call (currently 1wk in 4), with flexibility to travel to other sites within the UK, Ireland and internationally, with a bi-annual bonus paid to compensate.

What will you need? (Experience and qualifications)

With a background or commitment to working in a field based role, along with relevant experience within the water treatment sector, we are also looking for:

  • Electrically biased technician / engineer, with substantial electrical experience and training / certification gained in the water treatment or similar industry, including any:

What are the requirements? (experience and qualifications)

  • To join us in this key role, you’ll need specialist training covering process control and measurement; DCS, CEM hardware, regulatory monitoring requirements (MCERTS) and PLC.
  • You’ll have gained this through a degree/HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, an Engineering Apprenticeship and through a previous maintenance engineering role, based in a process, steam raising or heavy engineering environment.
  • You’ll combine all this with a Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) and the ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiar with BS 7671: 2008 17th edition wiring regulations and C&G 2377 PAT testing, you’ll be a critical source of knowledge for our wider team.

About the role

This position is a permanent, full time position.

The plant operative must work with the site supervisor to ensure all operational processes at the site comply with relevant legal, safety and environmental constraints. The Plant Operative must work as part of a small team of people to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the facility and will be responsible for operating the Processing Plant and drive Mobile Plant.

The role is required to work days, Monday to Friday 06:30 – 18:00 in Summer  06:30 to 16:30 during quieter winter months and alternate Saturdays 07:00 to 15:00. Overtime may be required to cater for the sites needs where necessary and occasional weekend work may also be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out instructions issued by the Site Supervisor or Site Manager.

Operate and maintain a variety of mobile plant in compliance with Safe system of work.

Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and routine maintenance and daily mobile plant checks.

Ensuring that within their areas of responsibility, SUEZ UK complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by their actions.

Cooperating with SUEZ UK and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ UK’s Policies and Procedures.

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

Is not affected by dirty and dusty conditions which are always present and some jobs will involve getting dirty

Who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required to maximise production.

Experience operating shredder and screeners and a mechanical aptitude a distinct advantage.

A flexible approach to work, including hours will be essential.

Experienced mobile plant operator (Front end Loading shovel) is essential.

360 Excavator licence would be a definite advantage

A licenced operator would have a distinct advantage but this is not essential. 

Willing to undertake training both on site and off site (May require occasional travel)

As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed, a flexible approach to work is required

The working hours are 38.5hrs from Monday to Friday. Overtime opportunities are available on a regular basis.

What will I be doing?

  • Our site at Kensington & Chelsea operates LGV vehicles, including Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs), Skip, and 7.5t cage tipper vehicles.
  • The role will involve driving and operating vehicles collecting domestic and commercial waste from our customers, delivering a high standard of service, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety rules at all times.

What are the requirements?

  • A flexible approach to work will be extremely beneficial, as you may be expected to cover shifts and do occasional overtime.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for professional driving coupled with good communication skills and a willingness to be part of a successful hardworking team delivering a high level of customer service.
  • An LGV Class 2 license as well as a CPC card are essential.
  • Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, though not essential.
  • Experience of working with roll on roll off, skip, front end loaders or trade waste RCV is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.

The working hours are are Monday to Saturday 05:30 - 14:00, when on early shift or 13:30 -22:30 Monday to Friday when on late shift.

The rate of pay will be up to £9.88 per hour.

What will I be doing?

  •  Carry out instructions issued by the Site Team Leader/Area Supervisor.
  •  Operate and maintain a variety mobile and fixed plant in compliance with Safe systems of work.
  • Maximise the recovery of recycling materials from deliveries to site
  •  Accurate recording of data from the systems on site,
  •  Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and maintenance
  • Ensuring that within their areas of responsibility, SUEZ UK complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by their actions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ UK and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ UK’s Policies and Procedures
  • Undertaking first aider duties and fire warden duties on site

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role
