A Floating Team Leader positions has become available to cover operations between our sites at Thornbury & Stoke Gifford HWRC or other sites within the South Glos contract , the post requires the successful person to work to within a team to develop operation and recycling and will also be required to carry a wide range of duties including plant operations, Weighbridge duties, general site duties, administration and all aspects of SUEZ Business Systems.

About the role

This role is a permanent, full time position and comes with a Company Van.

The working hours will be 37.5 hours per week 08:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday ( some weekend cover overtime, where required to cover holiday & absence)

The rate of pay for this role will be £11.51 per hour.

What will I be doing?

You will be tasked with ruinning the site and assisting the site operatives and members of the public. Carry out instructions and pass on instructions from management and supervisors to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.

Recording waste leaving the site, reporting issues.

Operating mobile plant.

Accurate recording of data from SUEZ  and software systems on site,

Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out daily checks, general cleaning duties and maintenance in accordance with 5S

Ensure the continual implementation and progression of all SUEZ Business Systems including continual Improvements, CSF’s and Organisational Clarity.

Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees  and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions

Computer literate and have basic numeracy skills

Be an excellent communicator with a good telephone manner

Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

This post is an ideal opportunity to assist in developing the site to meet the current aspirations of SUEZ, to work closely with customers to maximise the recycling recovery rates.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with previous experience of leading a team, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. As the post requires a variety of tasks to be completed a flexible approach to work is required. The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery but a current fork lift truck licence is preferred.

Having good computer skills for the input and recording of data on SUEZ systems will also be advantageous. A current IOSH certificate and COTC would be a distinct advantage.

Ideal candidate will have Mobile plant experience, Safety qualification such as IOSH managing Safely, First Aid , Fire Marshall. Good pc skills ( word , excel, outlook) Good organisation & people skills.
