As an Day Technician at SUEZ Industrial Water, a division of SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions UK, you’ll be part of a team that provides a holistic service in the water industry. The Role

This is permanent full time position working 40 hours including weekend cover. The successful candidate will be covering the operators holidays when necessary. If there is no cover required they will work 40 hours from Monday to Friday. The role is to cover holidays from the Melt Shop and section Mill operators also.

The Day Technician will be responsible for operating, optimising and improving the WTP’s across the Melt Shop, Sections Mill and Rod and Bar Mill and will assist in the efficiency of the service provided by the WTP Team on a daily basis.

This will involve assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of the plant – process operations, team co-ordination, permit issuance, maintenance and asset care, Legionella Monitoring, development projects, risk management, cost management and control, overall optimisation

What will I be doing as a Day Technician?

The Day Technician will be expected to implement the daily operational plant and drive continuous improvement within the WTP teams with a view to improving the reliability and efficiency of the WTP’s and Cooling Water assets.

Daily duties will include ensuring the WTP’s / Cooling Water Systems continually operate at their optimum level, whilst maintaining technician communications and shift cover, establishing operational reviews and ensuring the timely completion of routine PM tasks, facilitating project or 3rd party activity within the area.

What are the requirements?

  • Operation of process plants to tight performance standards (WTP or ETP accepted)
  • Previous supervisory experience (desirable)
  • Experience of training others
  • Experience of identifying and writing procedures
  • Advance HSE systems (RA, MS or OnRAMS,  COSHH, RAP, process release / isolation)
  • Basic maintenance understanding / appreciation
  • Experience of directing and organising sub-contractors.
  • Leadership and other practical hands on delivery
  • Working to strict HSE systems with high level of personal accountability
  • Operational problem solving and diagnostics (using technical literature)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, O&M’s, Technical Data etc
