As a Site Operative at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

This role is a permanent, full time position, with plenty of opportunity for overtime

In the winter months, working hours will be 35.5 hours per week, Wednesday - Sunday.

During the summer months, working hours will be 40 hours per week, Wednesday - Sunday.

The rate of pay for this role will be £7.83 per hour, with overtime being paid at time and a quarter.

You will also be expected to be able to cover on a Transfer Station site.

What will I be doing?

  • Assisting MOPs and answering any questions,
  • General sweeping and tidying of site – including litter picking, cleaning toilets/mess hut/office, cleaning signs/skips,
  • Assist during skip exchange/compacting,
  • Handling money – Resale & chargeable.
  • Use of till system,
  • Sorting waste and diverting away from Non-Recyclable Waste,
  • Ensuring the site maintains its high standards
  • Ensure the site is compliant to legislation, contract and company policies and procedures.
  • Completing any reasonable request by team leader, stand in team leader or management.
  • Mobile plant driving – compacting skips, loading artics etc.
  • Assisting with running the transfer station – to include weighbridge operations, litter control etc.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required. A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.

Previous experience within the waste industry or other high volume production processes is an advantage but not a necessity as full training will be provided where necessary.

The successful candidate should be willing to undertake mobile plant training, as this will form a part of their role, and also must be able to travel for this training.
