As a Weighbridge Operator at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

This is a permanent position.

The working hours will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (07:30 - 16:00).

The rate of pay is £8.50 per hour.

What will I be doing?

  • To deliver excellent customer service requiring good communication skills and to advise and assist the site users
  • Control all entries into/out of the site and populate a site diary
  • Ensure that all vehicles delivering waste or purchased materials are correctly weighed
  • Produce weighbridge reports as required from the system
  • Ensure that each delivery of waste is in compliance with the Site License, Duty of Care, and Special Waste Consignment
  • Carry out rudimentary checks in compliance with Duty of Care and QA procedures
  • Maintain and file records of all waste delivered for audit purposes.
  • Assist in basic admin duties as required by the Site Manager
  • To minimise coding errors in the production of site input data
  • To ensure that all legislation is complies with Site License, Duty of Care, Special Waste Regulations, and Quality Assurance
  • To ensure the site’s opening and closing times are adhered to at all times according to the relevant site permit and SUEZ R&R operating procedures
  • Perform site reception and telephone duties
  • Maintain site tidiness and appearance at all times
  • To work on Microsoft systems, to support in an admin role for the purpose of the contract.
  • To support the team on site with a hands on approach to recycling items from deliveries of waste in.
  • Complete records for waste inputs/outputs and complete production paperwork.

What are the requirements?

You must be capable of working within a team and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Previous experience of a similar role would be advantageous

The successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach to work, and also have a good attention to detail

An understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable
