As a Mobile Plant Operative at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the role

This is a full time, permanent position.

Your hours of work will be 47.25 hours per week, 8.5 hours Monday to Friday and 4.75 hours on Saturday at time and a quarter .

What will I be doing?

  • Carry out instructions from Line manager and management to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.
  • Responsible for the daily operations carried out on a Transfer Station or Processing Facility
  • Operation of various mobile plant and weighbridges
  • Completion of relevant site paperwork including Daily/Weekly Checks, Stock Sheets, Environmental Returns
  • Complete site Audits and rectify any actions required
  • Order Equipment and Resources for site
  • Other site duties such as litter picking, cleaning and sweeping, working outdoors and other appropriate duties
  • Dealing with the contractors
  • Maximise recycling and recovery within the facility
  • Minimise the amount of waste that is sent to landfill
  • Working to procedures as laid out in the company’s quality system
  • Recording the defects on the defect sheet and notifying your line manager as necessary
  • Ensure pedestrian and vehicle segregation at all times.
  • Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Providing excellent levels of customer service.
  • Implementation of 5S and continuous improvement in line with SUEZ Business Systems
  • Carry out mobile plant pre defect inspection maintain and operate mobile plant to Suez Policies and Procedures.

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective creative problem solving skills and be able to communicate solutions effectively.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion for recycling coupled with good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The successful candidate must have proven skills in developing staff to create a flexible and skilled team who can meet the changing operational and commercial requirements of the business.

The successful candidate must aspire to be a qualified first aider and preferably have Experience of working in the waste industry with a broad knowledge of plant equipment is desirable, but not essential, as training is provided.
