Summary of vacancy

Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Technician / Engineer with basic Electrical knowledge? Do you have experience working in process plant and engineering industry? Does this include knowledge of equipment such as gearboxes, conveyors and hydraulics?

You can help create a greener UK

About the role

A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible – and we’re making it happen. As a Maintenance Technician at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established recycling and recovery company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing?

You will provide planned and reactive maintenance for all mechanical areas of our plant. That means you’ll be tackling everything from fitting and fabrication, to welding, cutting and burning. Expect complex overhauls of machinery and inspections of key equipment including gearboxes, crane, conveying and hydraulic systems. At the same time, you’ll be a valued member of the team, supporting colleagues across different functions. Please note that this role forms part of a 24-hour call-out rota, covering plant breakdowns outside normal working hours.

What are the requirements?

To join us in this key role, you’ll need an Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) and previous maintenance engineering experience, gained in a process plant / engineering or heavy engineering environment. Any steam raising or boiler experience would be highly beneficial. You’ll be qualified to at least City & Guilds/NVQ level 3, combined with a Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) and the ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). With a basic knowledge of electrical systems plus welding experience, you’ll be equipped to excel in this important technical role.
