Summary of vacancy

Are you an experienced Site Supervisor, ideally within the recycling or waste management sector? Or are you a Supervisor in a Production or Manufacturing business, interested in a career in the recycling & recovery industry?

You can help creating a greener UK

About the role

A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible – and we’re making it happen. As a Site Supervisor at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing?

Reporting in to the Site Manager, this role will be responsible for supervising the daily running of the treatment facility operations ensuring full compliance on the site. The site supervisor will be responsible to ensure efficient deployment of staff and resources and promoting recycling and diversion from landfill initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the other members of the processing division team and contribute to ensuring we provide the best service to our clients and customers.

Key responsibilities of the role include conducting site audits in line with policies and procedures. Further responsibilities will include collating working hours of the site staff for payroll on a monthly basis, maintain budgetary control over operations, order equipment and resource for the sites. As well as providing COTC cover, managing performance and health and safety.

What are the requirements?

Experience of working in the waste industry is desirable, but applicants with a strong production or manufacturing background would also be welcomed. Either way, you must be able to demonstrate a passion for recycling / landfill diversion coupled with good communication skills. Ideally having worked in a supervisory role, you will certainly be used to working as part of a team and preferably have a reasonable level of training in health and safety such as IOSH Managing Safely, although this can be gained, as can NEBOSH.

Further desirable qualifications include COTC Level 4 Treatment Non-hazardous / Hazardous Waste, although SUEZ invest in their staff from day one so, any required training will be provided for the right person. Mobile plant experience, including operating wheeled loading shovels, 360 excavators and FLT would be beneficial and any knowledge or exposure to Lean, 5S or similar processes would also be advantageous.

Our  approach

With a raft of benefits, family-friendly policies and excellent remuneration packages, there’s never been a better time to join SUEZ recycling and recovery UK.

A friendly and supportive place that you will love to work, we believe creativity, clear communication and our drive for excellence are the keys to our success.
