Experienced Senior Site Manager?

You can help create a greener UK

About the role

A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible – and we’re making it happen.

As a Senior Site Manager at SUEZ, recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established recycling and recovery company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing?

What will I be doing as a Senior Site Manager?

This is your chance to support and guide the activities at our Ellington Road site in Northumberland that helps manage the recycling and recovery of green waste, as well as waste wood from across the region.

The sites comprises of an Open Windrow Composting (OWC) Facility and a Wood Processing Facility.  Under your guidance and leadership, the sites will run like clockwork, with you supporting the management in the daily activities for both operations and ensuring that our teams are performing at their very best. You will ensure the right quality feed stocks are accepted to enable the best quality products to be supplied to meet customer specifications.

To succeed, you’ll need to monitor budgets, maximise revenue, see that machinery is maintained, and make sure that safety and compliance are paramount. Much depends on your ability to establish a best practice mentality where people are motivated and excellence is the goal in everything from customer service to profitability.

What are the requirements?

What are the requirements? (experience and qualifications)

This post calls for a proven track record in a similar role, having managed a waste treatment / production facility or similar production orientated site before and having led and inspired teams.

Underpinning your experience will, ideally, be a COTC qualification in Treatment and an IOSH Managing Safely qualification. A NEBOSH general certificate would be even better, but isn’t essential, as any required training will be provided.

More important is an eye for detail, efficiency and the drive to complete every task to the highest standard.  You’ll combine this with commercial acumen, Microsoft Word and Excel skills, and a friendly, approachable manner.

A friendly and supportive place that you will love to work, we believe creativity, clear communication and our drive for excellence are the keys to our success. We also expect our people to be enthusiastic and responsible. If you share our thinking – and have the qualities we’re looking for – you could play a big part in our dedicated team.
