About the role

About the role The Role

This position is a Permanent position to be based at our site in Pinbrook Exeter and will cover other sites in the Exeter area.

The working hours are full time, with a minimum hours 35.5 hours during the winter.

Applicants will require a driving license and own vehicle to be able to fulfil this position as they will be providing cover on different sites for sickness, holiday etc.

What will I be doing? What will I be doing as a Mobile Site Operative?

You will work across the HWRC and transfer stations located within the region.

A requirement of your role will be that you have your own transport available, a travel allowance will be paid to the successful candidate when they travel between any sites.
 

What will I be doing?

What will I be doing as a Site Operative at a Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC)?

Advising and assisting the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials deposited in the sites.

Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.

Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.

Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility.

Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.

Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

Providing excellent levels of customer service.

  • Experience of working with the public in a busy work area
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written), good daily verbal communication is essential in this role.
  • Degree of flexibility is required as working hours may include Bank Holiday working.
  • Reliability, honesty, conscientious, practical, safety awareness.
  • Being prepared to work to our company values, including being flexible in a demanding environment.
