About the role

A Team Leader Position has become available, the post requires the successful candidate to work within a team and develop operations and systems with a focus on recycling. You will also be required to carry out a wide range of duties associated with Health and Safety, Environmental Compliance and Implementing SUEZ Business Systems (5’s, Visual Management and LEAN Principles)     

What will I be doing?

The Duties are as follows:

Be responsible for the day to day running of a busy Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Be confident in operating any fixed or mobile plant machinery on site, with a good understanding of defect reporting procedures.

Carry out Instructions from management and supervisors to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.

Maintaining a tidy site , carrying out general cleaning and maintenance duties

The Continual implementation and progression of all SUEZ Business Systems including 5’s, visual management and LEAN Principles

Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees  and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions

Keep staff engaged and informed through regular daily meetings.

Ensure staff and customers adhere to all safe working procedures.

Ensure the site is compliant with the Blackburn with Darwen HWRC contract,

Complete all paperwork ensuring all daily/weekly checks are carried out correctly.

Actively promote Health and Safety through reporting Near Miss and Safety in Mind Observations as per SUEZ procedures

Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the role.

What are the requirements?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and leadership skills, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence, permit and contract and will work to ensure site operations exceed all the standards required.

The position requires a variety of tasks to be completed so a flexible, forward thinking approach to work is needed. The successful applicant will be required to undertake and complete all personal development and training to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and the operation of site machinery.
