SUEZ recycling and recovery UK and is looking to recruit a Senior Bid Manager to join our successful Public Sector Development team based in Bristol.

About the role

Reporting into the Head Of Municipal Development, the Senior Bid Manager’s primary role is to tender for local authority waste collection and street cleansing services. In addition to tendering for new business the role is also involved in supporting existing business.

What will I be doing?

The Senior Bid Manager will develop detailed, robust and deliverable technical and commercial solutions for bids and manage a multi-disciplined bid team (both internal and external) as well as develop relationships with new and existing public sector customers within our target areas.

The key responsibilities  of the role include the project management of tenders, resourcing, financial modelling, risk analysis and the presentation of tenders for internal approvals. In addition the Senior Bid Manager will be the face of their projects and lead negotiations with clients in the case of dialogue or negotiated procurement procedures.

Working as part of a strong and experienced team, the successful candidate must have excellent inter-personal, communication and leadership skills as well as knowledge of Local Authority workings, constraints and politics.

What are the requirements?

Experience in leading waste collection and street cleansing services is desirable. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the range of services provided in the UK together with the associated performance. An understanding of UK waste legislation and market drivers is desirable.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate a strong connection to the industry in terms of how they keep themselves up to date with market developments e.g. through CIWM membership, and be able to demonstrate good IT skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
