Summary of vacancy

Are you a Maintenance Technician / Engineer with an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) bias? Have you worked in a production engineering / plant environment, with experience of process control and measurement equipment?

Use your knowledge to turn waste into power.

About the role

A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible – and we’re making it happen. As an E&I Maintenance Techncian at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing?

What will I be doing as a Maintenance Technician?

We’ll look to you to provide planned and reactive maintenance for all electrical and instrumentation areas of our plant. That means making sure plant installations and modifications meet the latest wiring standards and regulatory requirements. At the same time, you’ll be a valued member of the team, supporting colleagues across different functions. Our junior staff will look to you for guidance and supervision, as will contractors. Please note that this role forms part of a 24-hour call-out rota, covering plant breakdowns outside normal working hours.

What are the requirements?

What are the requirements? (experience and qualifications)

To join us in this key role, you’ll need to know about the principles of process control and measurement including DCS/SCADA systems and 3 term PID controllers. You’ll have learned about these areas through an Engineering Apprenticeship and a previous maintenance engineering role, based in a process, steam raising or heavy engineering environment. Thanks to this background, you’ll be qualified to at least City & Guilds/NVQ level 3. You’ll combine all this with a Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH), training in Regulatory Monitoring requirements (MCERTS) and the ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Familiar with BS 7671: 2008 17th edition wiring regulations and C&G 2377 PAT testing, you’ll be a critical source of knowledge for our wider team.
