About the role

This post is an ideal opportunity to assist in developing the site to meet the current aspiration of SUEZ and to work closely with customers to maximise the recycling recovery rates. The post requires Mon to Fri 8.00 am to 4.30 pm and may require additional hours on request to suit the needs of the business.

What will I be doing?

What will I be doing as a Team Leader?

Reporting into the site Supervisor, you will look after the day-to-day operation of the Blackpool Transfer Station site.

  • Operation and routine maintenance of mobile plant items.
  • Ensure that recycling and diversion from landfill is maximised as much as possible.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and correctly returned to the Administration Department on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
  • Under the direction of management, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Health & Safety issues and company policies.
  • Travel to undertake training requirements as well as to other sites in the area for staff cover.
  • Carry out instructions and pass on instruction from Line Manager and management to maximise the full potential of the site and staff.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of mobile and fixed plant in compliance with the Safe Systems of Work
  • Accurate recording of data from the systems on site,
  • Maintaining a tidy site, carrying out general cleaning duties and maintenance
  • Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Computer literate and have basic numeracy skills
  • An excellent communicator with a good telephone manner
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ’s Policies and Procedures
What are the requirements?

The successful candidate will be required to work to obtain the IOSH qualification and further training and development will be available.

Please note although plant operator experience is preferred it is not essential as full training will be given, basic IT is essential and full training on specific programs will also be given
